Episode 6: Spring Equinox
From Lisbon to Madrid
It is time to come out of hibernation and start celebrating spring. After all, yesterday was the Spring Equinox. Rita's Italian Ices celebrated the first day of spring by handing out free Italian ices. I had vanilla, while my friends had mango and cherry. Secretly, I wished passion fruit was today’s flavor.
Granted, it was a bit chilly and cloudy, but spring is in the air. I feel it coming. I noticed the first evidence of leaves on the trees behind my apartment. Students were tossing frisbees on the Cathedral lawn. Finally, it is time to put away the heavy jackets, gloves, and heavy woolen scarves and exchange them for bright spring dresses, tank tops, shorts, and sandals.
In celebration of Spring, Episode 6 of Mixed Triples is a Latin-flavored mix – a bit of Cha-Cha and some Bossa Nova. Spring is also a time of spontaneity, and with that in mind, this mix was not rearranged too many times and nor did I put exaggerated thought into the track selection, unlike the other mixes I typically compile.
