In the Darkness and Back Again

It has been toasty hot here this week. Beyond toasty really! Nothing like the Midwest in the summer. Right. That still didn't stop me from going out and taking pictures twice. But anyway, for the most part I've been sticking to the indoors. Doing photomanipulations and thinking up this mix...

In other news, I got a wonderful surprise in the mail... Stand and Deliver (a medieval music compilation. A rather interesting listen) and Hungry Lucy: Before We Stan...We Crawl (which I've fallen in love with.) Hungry Lucy s somewhat akin to The Shroud in my opinion. Haunting vocals, and moody harmonies. Incidentally, along with the cd's were a couple of fliers of some bands I had not heard of previosly: Qntal, and Ego Likeness.

I (meaning the mad terran :p) did manage to get a hold of one of the Qntal live albums. They have a rather interesting sound. Lovely vocals and nice rythems. Incidentally they have a new cd coming out called Silver Swan.

Haven't been able to listen to Ego Likeness yet, but they sound rather fascinating. Industrial with driven female vocals (reminiscent of the 80's.) So, I'm going to root around for one of their CD's.

Also of note: The Handsome Family. Another find by The Mad Terran. They're a really interesting mix of country and Gothic.

And Lunascape , a new band that has made it onto my favorites list has a new cd coming out. So excited! :D
